Meet the Team

Chastity Cortijo

Hey, I am so happy you are here. My name is Chastity and I am your host inside this community. But before I encourage you to check us out and get into what Do the Boring Work is, let me tell you how we got here. Because I think my story might sound a little familiar to yours. I started in corporate at 18 years old and I loved it. I worked my way up through customer service and operations at investment bank call centers. I learned how to manage volume, communicate professionally, and keep things running behind the scenes at a high level. Then I moved into marketing. I worked at Mindshare, an agency that books Super Bowl commercial slots. I was moving. Growing. Proud of what I was building. Then I landed what felt like my dream job. Community Manager at CafeMom, a social networking platform for moms. I was literally building and managing an online community for a living before most people even knew that was a job. After giving everything I had to them for 5 years... They laid me off. And I was devastated. Within six months I became a single mom of two, lost my job, and faced foreclosure on my house. All at once. I had to move back home to Brooklyn an I did not have the luxury of figuring out what was next. I had to feed my kids. So I did what I knew. I took every skill I had built in corporate and I started helping small businesses with the things they did not have time to do. Admin work. Scheduling. Emails. Online presence. The boring admin stuff that keeps a business running. Painters. Plumbers. Contractors. Coaches. Anyone who needed help and could not afford to hire help. I did not realize I was building a business. I thought I was surviving. That was 15 years ago. Fast forward to two years ago. Life was pulling at me for my next chapter. I started spending time in mom groups and women were constantly asking about side hustles and ways to earn income from home. I would share what I did. I told them I do boring admin work for small businesses using skills I already had from my corporate career. The questions were overwhelming. It became clear that there was a real need for organized, practical information about how to do this. Not theory. Not a course that teaches you to dream. Real strategy for real women who already have skills and just need someone to show them how to package and use them. So I started looking for a place to put everything I knew. A space where I could pour out 15 years of experience in a way that actually helped people. That became Do the Boring Work. This community exists because I saw too many women asking how to earn extra income, supplement what they already make, or transfer their corporate skills into something flexible enough to fit around their real lives. Not all paths are the same. What worked for me may or may not work for you. And I will never pretend otherwise. This is not a get rich quick scheme. A Virtual Assistant business is a real business. It takes time, commitment, and consistent action. But it is also one of the most accessible businesses you can build because it starts with skills you already have. My mantra has always been simple. Offer services using skills you already have. You do not need to learn something new right away. You need to package what you already know. Inside this community you will find strategies, skill assessments, templates, resources, scripts, 1:1 coaching, and everything else I can pour into this space to help you build something real. Getting started is always the hardest part. But you are here. And that means you have already done something most people never do. You showed up. Now let's build. 💛 Chastity

Antonia! OMG this made my day — thank you so much! 💜 You've been such a valued part of our community, and honestly, it goes both ways. The energy and insight you bring to the space makes it better for everyone. I look forward for when the other ladies get to know you in the ways that I have. You have a lot of knowledge to pass on, too. I started our little corner of the internet because I wanted a place where we could all come together to share in a real way that actually understands our real life craziness. Knowing that's landing means everything to me. So grateful you're here. Let's keep building!
